I’ve been attending the Utah Scottish Festival and Highland Games for as many years as I can remember. I raised my two sons in these Scottish traditions, year after year. So when the organizers from the Utah Scottish Association asked me if I wanted to talk about the games on my blog, I said absolutely YES.
The 2018 Games will be held June 8 – 10 at the Utah State Fair Park. If you’ve never been, this is definitely an event to enjoy for the whole family. There will be tents for all the different Clans, a variety of Highland dance competitions, traditional foods and crafts for purchase, bagpipe and drum bands, and those famous Scottish athletic competitions. Gotta love men in kilts (and a few women!) throwing heavy things around.

My favorite part is the entertainment – this year The Wicked Tinkers and Molly’s Revenge will be the headline bands. They’re two of my favorite bands and I know you’ll love them too. It’s just an experience you’ll never forget.
There’s a little something to delight everyone in the family. You might even find a tiny Utes fan in a kilt or a very small dog. Come and find your own adventure at the Scottish games!

Festival Hours are:
Friday June 8th 5pm – 10pm: featuring a Tattoo at 7:30pm.
Saturday June 9th 9am – 10pm: featuring opening ceremonies at Noon and a concert at 7pm.
Sunday June 10th 9am – 5pm: featuring a Kirkin’ ‘O the Tartan at 11am and the closing ceremonies at 4pm.

Pricing: At the event, ticket prices are $15 for adults, $10 for Seniors & Teens 12 – 18 years old, and free for children 11 and younger. Tickets are good for all 3 days of the event.
